Cut wire rope with wire rope cutters, not whatever's already open in the site ute.

These are purpose-built cable and wire rope cutters. Each one uses a triangular cutting system that FELCO verifies gives a clean, precise cut without crushing the cable.

Which model do I need?

The C7 is the only one-handed model, good for occasional cuts on smaller wire where you don't want to carry a two-handed tool. The C9, C12 and C16 are two-handed models, each a step up in capacity and leverage — match the tool to the largest diameter you need to cut, even if that larger job only comes up occasionally. Never select a cutter below the required diameter.

The C112 is also two-handed but works differently: a cam device reduces the effort needed for the cut. Its own capacity is 12.7mm, sitting between the C12 and C16, so it isn't simply "bigger than the C16." Choose it if you're cutting at or under 12.7mm regularly and want an easier cut, not if you regularly need more than 12.7mm. If you're weighing up C16 against C112 for a specific job, call SLE and we'll help you land on the right one.
